E-Comm 9-1-1, Emergency Communications for British Columbia Incorporated, recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of you as a user of this website. This website site does not collect personal information about you except for information that you have voluntarily provided (for example, when you submit an e-mail to us with comments or questions.) This website does NOT use cookies.


When you call 9-1-1 or your local non-emergency line, E-Comm collects personal information from you as described below.

  • Calls are recorded for quality assurance, training and investigation purposes.
  • During calls, E-Comm may collect additional information from you:
    • for contact purposes,
    • to dispatch your call to the right location,
    • to connect you as quickly as possible to the agency and services you requested,
    • to relay vital information electronically to the dispatchers and emergency personnel on their way to help, and
    • for investigation purposes.

The collection of your personal information is authorised under section 26 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, including section 26(b), where applicable, and section 26(c).  If you have questions about your privacy, you may contact [email protected].
